Wonder how much it costs to backpack through europe?
i'm going to europ ein about a year and i want to have a pretty comfortable trip
how much u.s currency do i need to last at least 2 and a half months if not more?
i do plan to set up residency but i don't want to do that right away
get a Eurorail Pass for your transportation. They have web sites.
You can also check on hostels. One way to save money is to take the late train from one place to the next overnight. Sleep on the train.
A bit uncomfortable, but your young.
depending non where you stay and how much you eat, drink and use batteries, etc will depend on your overall cost.
I recommend a minimum of $50/60 dollars a day if you travel cheap. $100/150 to travel better. Not including your hostel/hotel.
Basically an average of between $80/100 per day.
If that seems a bit much, the Euro is higher than our dollar and things cost more in Europe. Of course you're talking about a yr from now and it may cost more then.
The best way to save eating is avoid the many tourist areas and go where the locals go.
Check out some tour books they help.
When you get to a town ask at the local tour/hotel centers where the college/young people hang out, they know the ropes.
Do go to Paris, Munich, Rome, Florence, Venice, the Riviera - Nice and Monte Carlo, Amsterdam, Barcelona.
There's a lot more but these are great.
